Der Konzern l\u00e4sst sich diese Entwicklung 2,6 Milliarden Euro kosten. Ziel ist es, die realistischen Abgastests (Real Drive Emissions) der EU, welche ab 2017 gelten, zu bestehen. Laut Daimler liegt der CO2-Aussto\u00df bei 13 Prozent, der Stickoxid-Aussto\u00df bei 80 Prozent unter dem des Vorg\u00e4ngers. Trotzdem gibt es 18 kW mehr Leistung. Der Zeitpunkt der Ver\u00f6ffentlichung der Investition ist angesichts der aktuellen Lage schlecht gew\u00e4hlt. Der Motor ist schon mehrere Jahre in Produktion. Viele Umweltsch\u00fctzer verlangen wegen des <strong>VW<\/strong>-Abgasskandals ein europaweites Verbot von Diesel-Fahrzeugen. Fahrzeuge mit Diesel-Motoren werden aber bei den gro\u00dfen Autoherstellern besonders h\u00e4ufig abgesetzt.
